OTHER WORDS FOR ███████

This comic, titled "OTHER WORDS FOR ███████", was my capstone project to conclude my time at the University of Kentucky, and was written and digitally illustrated to discuss the legislative censorship of discussion of transgender issues and identity in schools. It aims to call into question, through the use of personal narrative, what recourse is left for young trans people when the language they would need to describe their experiences in any terms other than negatively transgressive is made inaccessible to them. To that end, this body of work describes my experiences coming out as a trans man, without using any language of or related to gender.
